Work Ready Access Course

Nigg Skills Academy will be running a new short 4-week course on the Monday 16th January

The 4-week Work Ready Access Course will consist of the following:

Nationally recognised NPORS training and the following cards:

• Site Safety
• CSCS Card
• Abrasive Wheels
• Fire Warden

In addition, they will complete some fabrication and welding projects to get an introduction into fab/weld work which will have an in-house certificate. They will also complete an EAL unit in Health and Safety. (SCPEO2/001).

To add value to everyone’s learning experience and skills they will complete some bridging Math's and IT followed by some communication and CV writing skills. Employers will be invited in to meet the students and provide some presentation on their companies and the potential opportunities within their business and the wider marketplace.

The course is being fully funded through a recent successful bid to the Highland Council Challenge Fund and it is hoped the skills gained will assist those move forward into finding employment or into Further Education by progressing directly into our innovative 16 week Performing Engineering Operations and NC in Fabrication/Welding course.

All PPE will be provided.

Transport from Inverness could be available, picking up along the A9.
